Tatkala ilmu belum cukup...

Kami pilih wireless router. Sebelum membuka kotaknya, saya membaca arahannya, macam senang saja untuk setting.
Balik rumah bila dah siap keluarkan segalanya, kami pun mula configure. Tomo keluar, hampir sejam dia menghilang. Bila dia balik, katanya lap top saya masih terkunci. Butang kekunci wireless belum buka lagi. Alahai...macam nak ketuk kepala dengan anak lesung!
Kita tidur, esok pagi sambung. Selepas membuka access wireless. Buat punya buat akhirnya lap top dapat signal wireless tapi tak dapat detect sambungan modem.
Tomo keluar lagi. Dia pergi ke Deo Deo. Dia balik bawa alat lain. Yang lama itu rupanya defective. Rosak! Padanlah, setting sampai nak mampus 2 jam pun tak jadi-jadi.
Wireless router yang baru ini tak besar. Saiznya sebelah tapak tangan sahaja. Mulalah kami buat configure semula. Buat punya buat, setting punya setting. Agaknyanya dah 2 kali hampeh pun tak jadi, kali ini ingat dapek kan? Tak juga...jadah mana yang salah?
Itulah saya kata...perasaan bercampur baur.
Aman saja wajah dia. Dalam dada emaknya pula dah macam lada berkisar-kisar dalam blender!
Giliran saya pula memicit butang telefon.

Bulan November, tahun 2005.
Maaf puan, database kami hanya simpan data setakat 2 tahun sahaja.
Tapi saya pula rasa nak tenking dia!

Tapi sabar.

Baiklah, saya tahan kebosanan, kesedihan, kemarahan.

Tatkala menerima surat hantu...

Pagi ini usai menyemak peti surat, terlihat sebaris mel.

Penghantar: drzaims

Hisssh, saya takut!

Nota Kaki: saya baru dimaklumkan ini mel iklan. Jadi saya akan bakulsampahkannya.

Untuk menggantikan catatan ini saya masukkan lagu Utada Hikaru bertajuk Come back to me.
**********

Trashing out tyme

Other than having less time to blog-hop nowadays, the write-up below is another reason why I don't visit blogs anymore.
Once my firewall (which is set to very high), annouces that your blog is a high security risk, you are out of my reading list. Maybe for a trial period of 2 months.
But if the same problem persist, your blog will be categorised as history.

So please, I beg blog-writers, make sure you keep your site save for reading visitors. That is, if you want that high visitors stats. But if high visitors stats is not your type, you are free to let online threats hang on your sites that eventually will slow down your pc performance and delete all files (including photos) from your hard drive.

Not only do I keep a high security firewall. I set my email box to trash all forwarded mails,
multi-receipients mails,
mails without my name,
mails wiithout the senders name,
mails with weird attachments,
mails with invitation to become friends,
and chain letters mails.

I keep my mails (have several mail addresses for different functions) guarded tightly and never display them freely.

So, don't mind me, if I stop reading your writings. Maybe the problem is from your own pc!

Reuters - Tuesday, August 25

Biel, 27, who shot to fame in the TV show "7th Heaven" and most recently starred in "Easy Virtue," was deemed the most dangerous, with fans having a one-in-five chance of landing at a website that has tested positive for online threats, such as spyware, adware, spam, phishing, and viruses.

"Cybercriminals are star watchers too - they latch onto popular celebrities to encourage the download of malicious software in disguise," McAfee's Jeff Green said in a statement.

"Consumers' obsession with celebrity news and culture is harmless in theory, but one bad download can cause a lot of damage to a computer."

"Every day, cybercriminals use celebrities' names and images, like Kim Kardashian and Rihanna, to lure surfers searching for the latest stories, screen savers and ringtones to sites offering free downloads laden with malware," the statement added.

Coming second in the list for the second year running was pop star Beyonce, with McAfee finding that putting "Beyonce ringtones" into a search engine yielded a dangerous website linking to a distributor of adware and spyware.

Lapping-top tyme

This is my new girl. Just got it 2 days ago. My old playpal just dropped dead on my face. She couldn't take all the bashing on her day and night. I worked her till she collapsed on my feet. Poor girl.
Anyway, I was with the old girl for 6 faithful years. Day and night, we were together. Sometimes, my tears dropped on her face while I expressed my heart out, sometimes she see me smiled when people dropped by to make funny comments, she was with me all those wonderful times when my children were growing up. She stood by me but she died last week, while I was sleeping.
Thank you Sony, old girl, I will miss you. At celeron 1.8GHz with only 60GB, you were the top in the market when I got you. I took you in at US1,700. But now, you cannot take it anymore. I demand so much from you. I overload you with so much data and sometimes makes you breathless, I am so sorry, old girl.

Sony, old girl, I have to get a new friend since you left me. I cannot be by myself too long. I will be mentally-slanted. I admit I am the unfaithful type. You know I will not bury you, you will be on my table until the time I feel fit to keep you tidily away. I am watching you as I am writing this farewell piece, Sony Old girl.
Here is the new friend.
She is small and cute, pretty smile and beautiful teeth.
She is the size of half A4 paper and I can carry her around. Not that I love her more than you, no.
The reason why I got a small, pretty, cute girl is so I can take her to Spore and Msia. So she can be my travel companion. Let me introduce you to her.
I give her a sweet name Lavie girl. Nice name right? Sony, old girl, I know you'll like her as well.

Her size is only at 8.9-inch 1024 x 600CD with 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, 160GB HDD, 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g WiFi, SD slot, 1.3 megapixel webcam, XP Home.

She is so small but I can load her full at 160GB. This time I know she can take all the data I throw in her brains. She even have this small eye in her head at 1.3 megapixel, which is clear and sharp. All my friends and children over the world can see me talking. But, the best part is she has a small slot for SD card. You know right, when I go travelling I take lots of photos, so this time I can just slot in the SD card and ta da, I can load in the photos right there.

I bought a small carry-case for Lavie. She is so light at 1.17kg, I don't think I have trouble now while waiting in the transit lounge at Khai Tak Airport in between transit time.

No, you will always be in my mind Sony, Old girl. Thank you for being with me all the 6 years. Luv you and you are in my memory always.

Password security

A new security flaw allows hackers access to the passwords in your computer.

REDMOND, Wash. - Microsoft Corp. is taking the unusual step of issuing an emergency fix for a security hole in its Internet Explorer software that has exposed millions of users to having their computers taken over by hackers.

The "zero-day" vulnerability, which came to light last week, allows criminals to take over victims' machines simply by steering them to infected Web sites; users don't have to download anything for their computers to get infected, which makes the flaw in Internet Explorer's programming code so dangerous. Internet Explorer is the world's most widely used Web browser.

Microsoft said it plans to ship a security update, rated "critical," for the browser on Wednesday. People with the Windows Update feature activated on their computers will get the patch automatically.

Thousands of Web sites already have been compromised by criminals looking to exploit the flaw. The bad guys have loaded malicious code onto those sites that automatically infect visitors' machines if they're using Internet Explorer and haven't employed a complicated series of workarounds that Microsoft has suggested.

Microsoft said it has seen attacks targeting the flaw only in Internet Explorer 7, the most widely used version, but has cautioned that all other current editions of the browser are vulnerable.

Microsoft rarely issues security fixes for its software outside of its regular monthly updates. The company last did it in October, and a year and half before that.
