Word Processor

Google
I had a word processor just like this before. Can't remember where I stashed it. Before this, my father lend me an Olivetti. Those typewriters that used two-coloured ribbon. Black on top and red at the bottom. I used to write resume after I left school with Olivetti and you should hear the sound in the middle of the night.
My father used to nag about the noise but I have to send the letter out the next day!
Anyway, when I have babies, I did not read nor write. Those 15 blissful years, or is it blissful?
Anyway, I started to write again but Olivetti was not with me. So I got myself a Brother Word Processor.
I used it for about 3 years and then came the Microsoft words. Out goes the Brother WP.
Why am I talking about past years junks?

Because right now I need that junk. I need that Brother WP.
Tell me how to type a virtual document on the computer. That document is like boxes that you have to fill up.
So, I still need that Brother WP.

Why don't your just write?

Nay, my hand gets nervous when writing important documens from the government. I cannot avoid some misspelled words and such.

Oh, give me my Brother WP!

Masalah catatan blog

Amat terharu, amat tersendu rasanya.
Tolonglah pasang pertahanan spyware dan pop-up.

Virus attack

"Watch your thoughts, they become words/ Watch your words, they become actions/ Watch your actions, they become habits/ Watch your habits, they become character/ Watch your character, they become destiny."/ by unknown writer.

**********************************************

Friday night, I wanted to know the code for embedding MP music, so I searched for the code and out came some sound oooo and ahhhh.
Oh, oh, I knew immediately, some lucah site managed to break down my cover. Habis, that was the only thought that came in mind.
Yes, habis...

I take care of my pc like its my own child. I cover it with high security, on top of that, closed all spams and no pop-up is allowed.
More that that, every page I open I make sure the setting will prompt for cookie permission.
Than, every time I shut down, all cookie and temporary files are destroyed, just in case there are some ugly-ducklings trying to hide in the cookie.
On top of all this, every week, I do spyware and anti-virus scanning and of course not to mention, very top in latest virus updates and spyware.

So, I thought I was very safe. I thought I can gleefully fly all over the cyber world like the Japanese emperor going shopping in town.

Then I hear some ooohhh-ahhhhs.
This bloody lucah site break the spam wall, knock down pop-up protection and slide ever so smoothly in my system registry. Forgive my language...CILAKA betul semua manusia yang buat kerja "lucah" belakang tabir!

Ok, anti-virus screams every now and then for me to clean this pc, I am infected with Worm.Win32.NetSky (maybe from activeX of the lucah site) and Trojan Downloader (this one another big pain in the neck).

Went into system restore and work in safe mode, scan spyware and anti-virus for two rounds and still the worm is inside, can't get rid of it.

Where is it hiding?
In my system registry.
But I can't find the command line for the path to the registry of this worm.

What do I do?
I've spent this whole weekend tickeling and the spring sun is outside, shining ever so welcomingly. Warming my body and inviting me to bath in its light.

ps: Help me, if not I will have to reformat and then again all my links will be gone.

*sigh*

Izin Sony

My beautiful compu-ter

I had my first computer in 1997 and the operating system was in Japanese! The person who sold me this computer was my Japanese nephew who worked for Epson. He installed Japanese Win 95 and that was a very stressful time for me. That time, computer was entirely new to me. Before having that first compuet, I went to the Ryukyu University, almost everyday to practise some e-mailing procedures, mostly using hotmail.com, just to familiarize.
I had some hard time with Japanese operating system and a friend, who sympathised my situation, lent me Win 98 English . What I knew that time was only to do simple mailing and surfing. I did not installed any anti-virus system nor any Windows updates. On a few occasion, I had so much trouble trying to clean the computer after virus infection. I had to call in help from some students who are enlightenment on repairing computers. Since I could not get my hands on Microsofts products in english here, the situation became desperate to get hold of anti-virus ware in english. I called up some friends in Singapore and Malaysia to help me get those CDs.

Those days, I used dial-up line and it was based on hourly usage. The more I used, the bill would be sky-high, since it was the early era of dial-up.
Well, I ended all that by fixing asdl line on Feb 2003 and bought myself this present computer at the same time. The operating system is XP Japanese but good thing is, english-written softwares are compatible with XP windows. That means it is alright to install Canon Printer English driver or any english software like Digital camera Zoom Browser.
Over the years, I've collected a few cyber friends, some I know personally. So now, most of my time are spend with my cyberpals. Whenever I am online, they would chat up with me. Mostly during their working hours, I would leave them alone eventhough I can see their names light up ( online ready to chat). When I don't wish to chat, I would still go online but I make a remark like, "in the kitchen" or "not at my desk", or something like that!

To see my cyber friends light up, tells me...

1) that they are fine and are doing their daily chores,
2) that I am not alone in this cyber world,
3) that when I light up, I am telling those cyber friends "I am fine too",
4) that friends out there like to see me as well,
5) that friendship goes both ways.

When cyber friends light up, it does not necessary mean that it is time for chatting! No, I just love to see the names light up and I feel cyber friends appreciate this as well.
I find it really selfish of some cyber friends who go invisible, just to avoid chatting. Like they have the power to chat with some particular friends and ignore the others or like it's a one-way lane. What happens if all the rest of the cyber friends have the same attitude and everyone goes invisible. Then, forget about collecting cyber friends, forget about cyber chat machine. Stay alone and ignore the world and the world will ignore you back!
This is just my humble opinion, nothing to debate about.

PC Sony
